Anna Rice

Anna Rice is a London/Dublin-based composer/songwriter, whose work spans animation, thriller, period drama, documentary, performance art and live stage drama.

Anna was one of 12 emerging composers worldwide to be selected for the prestigious ASCAP Filmscoring Workshop with Richard Bellis in 2008, and has twice been a selected composer for the Moonstone European Filmmakers' Lab, where she collaborated with directors Vanja d'Alcantara and BAFTA winner Tinge Krishnan. Since 2004 she has been involved with Screen Training Ireland/UCLA's Film Scoring Programme where she studied with former Head of Music at CBS Television, Don Ray and Conrad Pope.

Her writing credits for Film/TV and Theatre include:

Anna was the winner of the 2006 Bill Whelan International Music Bursary, awarded to her by the Grammy Award-winning composer of "Riverdance" allowing her to continue her development at the Royal College of Music, London.

She is a Music graduate of Trinity College Dublin, and holds a Masters Degree in Ethnomusicology from the Irish World Music Centre, where she studied Traditional Irish Fidde performance with original 'Riverdance' fiddler, Maire Breatnach.

She holds an LRSM diploma in violin performance, and has gigged with Sinead O'Connor, Jack L, Frankie Gavin, Phil Coulter, Brian Kennedy, and the Three Tenors. In Spring 2009, Anna's music featured in the Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra's "Celtic Spectacular" programme during their 49-concert tour of the US.
