Jennifer Evans is a Dublin based singer songwriter. Her regular performances with The Ripe Intent have gained her a loyal following on the live scene.

Originally born in Washington D.C., 1983, Jennifer is a serlf taught musician raised in Tallaght, Co. Dublin. After picking up the guitar at age 11 and composing songs from the age of 13, she played in various groups through her teenage years and early twenties ranging in style from hard rock to minimalistic folk.

All collaborations played an important part in broadening her skills as a musicain. she performed and recorded her own material with Mescalito and recorded backing vocals on their self titles debut alum. Caoimhe Hogarty, an active traditional folk singer in Dublin, also played a key role and lent harmony and percussion to Jennifer's songs in early recordings and live performances.

In the summer of 2006, she set out on a lengthy search for sharp and dedicated musicians to complemement her sound. From advertisements in colleges, music rehearsal spaces and of course through word of mouth from fellow musicians, the Ripe Intent was formed. Experienced and educated players, this all Dublin based band carry the song's elaborate structures with great sensitivity and ease.

The music is definitely alternative and finds it's roots in Jazz, Folk and Blues. The vocals are soulful and lyrically unique in it's origin of intense emotional experiences and daunting but lush perceptions of being. Performances to date, both solo and accompanied, vary from venues and events such as The Fringe Festival, Whelans, Doyle's Ruby Sessions and Bewley's Café Theatre.

Jennifer Evans & The Ripe Intent release their first professional recording in late 2009 and continue to perform throughout Ireland.

The debut EP launch will be in Crawdaddy on the 19th September 2009.
