As a singer-songwriter, Jody Trehy merrily tours the universe, joyfully bringing his particular brand of lyrical and dramatic song to the far flung corners of the cosmos. Back at home, he has recently released his debut album entitled ‘Promise’ and previously: ‘Presence’: a four track EP. “Cracking good songs in the style of Brecht, Bowie, Bernelle and Brel” (Irish Times) He is now in pre-production for a new album: ‘Stories & Games’ due out in 2010.
Jody is also a founder member of ‘Little Dark Star Musical Theatre Co.’ and his creative work for the stage includes: ‘How I Failed To Become A Popstar, the Musical’, nominated for ‘Sexiest Show’: Dublin Fringe Theatre Festival, 2001; ‘Eejit Of Love’: Pavilion Theatre & Dublin Fringe Theatre Festival, 2008; and most recently he composed music and lyrics for Longroad Production’s ‘MacBecks’: Olympia Theatre & Cork Opera House. 2009.
He is currently writing songs for Little Dark Star’s next production: a musical based on a wonderful old film from the forties entitled: ‘The Boy With Green Hair’.
