Ken began his violin studies with Geraldine O'Grady at the Royal Irish Academy of music and went on to study with David Lillis, Adrian Petcu, George Sirbu, Marianne Sirbu and David Takeno, head of strings at London's Guildhall school of music and drama- also taking masterclasses with Boris Belkin and Yehudi Menuhin.

One of Ireland's most versatile violinists, Kenneth Rice enjoys performing an eclectic range of styles with a broad range of musicians. In constant demand as a chamber musician and recording artist, he has performed with the European Chamber Orchestra, London Mozart players, Crash ensemble, Lyric theatre opera, Cork opera 2005, RTE orchestras, Nuevo Tango Quartet, 'Good Evening Mr. Kreisler', West Ocean String Quartet and many more.

His abiding love of Jazz has seen him partner Jazz legend Julian Joseph in concert at Dublin's meeting house square. As composer and arranger his works have featured in film scores, tv commercials and numerous contemporary albums.
